Monthly Fire Ceremony

Fire Ceremony

 Tuesday, June 7th
6:45 pm

~ led by Katy Koontz

The purpose of the FIRE CEREMONY is to heal and purify both the planet’s physical oceans and the oceans of cosmic thought.

At 7 pm local time, fire elder's light ceremonial fires at each of the Peace Sound Chambers around the world. Those present watch the fire in silence until it burns out, giving to it what we want to transmute in our lives and staying open to the messages and teachings it brings.

Come to the fire ceremony if you enjoy focused meditation, if you are looking for new ideas and insights, if you seek to release and transmute something that does not serve you, if you want to join in the service of healing the oceans (both physical and cosmic) or if you’re simply called to participate in a ceremony that honors this powerful elemental force.

We suggest you arrive by 6:45 pm.
All are welcome.
Donations are appreciated.

Dance to Heal the Earth

Many of you already know that Dance to Heal the Earth is a vision that came together after the tragic Oso, WA mudslide on spring equinox in 2014. If you don’t, here’s a video about our history.

https://youtu.be/_waHLYUiKM0

It’s an honor, a privilege, and sometimes a challenge to organize, facilitate and dance this vision throughout the years. Every year in December and January, Spirit starts giving me the message about what we’ll be working with in this year. This year’s refined theme is Regeneration in Right Relationship to All Life. What does this mean to me, and for us all?

We’ve experienced lockdowns, masks, vaccines (or not), isolation, self-examination, the release of everything we had come to think of as ‘normal’ in the past two or more years. I experienced that even more after the mudslide, so a part of me was prepared for accepting another ‘new normal’.

However, most weren’t prepared and that has caused great division, huge fear, depression, anxiety, and for some, despair. Others have gone down the rabbit hole or simply bypassed the whole shift that is happening.

So, Regeneration.. for me this means finding my core, balancing and integrating, living from Center.

In Right Relationship…. means finding middle ground again, and living in harmony with myself, caring for myself by resting, eating well, doing the daily practices that align me with Father Sky and Mother Earth.

With All Life….includes my relationships in the natural world. We are neither above or below any of Life’s creations. I now have the privilege of listening to a myriad of birdsongs 🎵🎶
every morning as the sun wakes up. I leave them  offerings. We live in a Bear Sanctuary, and I had the great honor of hearing a bear in the forest last night. Being surrounded by incredible tree healers is a profound privilege.  Listening to the river roar or babble below us fills my heart with joy. Watching the sunrise opens my heart in gratitude for all that lives. And even the Stone People are alive with the breath of Spirit. Some of us have to go far to escape concrete cities. Yet, even in the city, dandelions grow in cracks between pavement, and kestrel nest on tall buildings.
The theme of this year’s Dance applies to all areas of our lives all year, not just when we come together to dance. I invite each of us to find our own Regeneration in Right Relationship to All Life.

For those who will join us in person this year, we ask you to self test for Covid 24 hrs. in advance. If you test positive,  please stay home. We’ll refund any fees you’ve paid, or you can donate it to support another participant.  We ask that any Earthkeepers who want to have a personal steam cleanse and blessings bring two flat (white if possible) sheets and two towels. Only Dancers will be in the Sweat Lodge this year. Please bring a sweat dress, or shorts and shirt (for men), towels and your own water bottle to the lodge.

Our purpose in this year’s Dance is to discover and refine the contributions each of us can make to Heal our Mother and All Our Relatives. We will Dance, Sing and Celebrate Life together!

We can’t wait to be with you again!!

We are asking for sponsorship through monthly donations.

These donations do not need to be large but if those who love the Center for Peace could help by committing a few dollars on a monthly basis it could be the difference between always hoping that someday we will be able to build or provide those needed areas (i.e. showers, sleeping areas, restrooms) and actually making it happen.

If you have participated in any of the programs, offerings, and events that occur on an ongoing basis at the Center for Peace you have already felt the personal blessings from these activities. Our mission is to be a Spiritual Center for our community which extends to anyone open to this learning path.
