What is more natural than putting hands on someone who is in distress? It is a simple way to express “ I am with you at this moment.” It is an indication of giving attention, listening and often the start of a conversation.
Shiatsu is a hands on modality from Japan that has much of the same theoretical base as Acupuncture. It is the practice of being present with someone and a way to converse with or without words.
In this introductory class we will focus on theory, techniques and alignment. We will explore how to give relaxed pressure and open our perception to our receiver and their response. Shiatsu is an excellent practice to support and improve physical function, ease mental and emotional stress, and assist in preventative self care.
