13 Dogs Sterilized at November's Spayathon for Puerto Rico,
A Tale of a Kissing Therapist and More Volunteer Opportunities!
 Our Spayathon4PR Adventure

Our Spayathon4PR Adventure!

On November 6, we took thirteen dogs to the on-going Spayathon event, which took place in Arecibo. There, a coalition of 26 local, national and international organizations including the Humane Society of the United States, sterilized and vaccinated up to 550 cats and dogs! We left the shelter at 7:30am, returning twelve hours later with our groggy pups. Read more about our memorable day here with a special guest post written by one of our volunteers and resident photographer, Dominik...
A Happy Beginning with Lots of Kisses
A Happy Beginning with a Lot of Kisses!

Earlier this year, Debra Malinics adopted Carmen and has since dubbed her the "Kisser Therapist" after she registered Carmen as a therapy dog:

"As a therapy dog, Carmen brings joy and love to children, students and adults. Everywhere I go, people fall in love with her and on her therapy visits, they call her the 'Serial Kisser' because she spends her time kissing everyone in the room.

I have owned neurotic dogs, psychotic dogs, crazy dogs, but never one as wonderful, sweet, smart, and loving as Carmen."

Together, we filled five large black contractor trash bags with beer bottles, plastic water bottles, plastic straws, six-pack rings and other trash that does not belong on the beach.

Your donations directly support homeless, hungry and suffering animals who cannot save themselves. We need your help: Giving Tuesday and always!

Your donations save lives!

We still receive hundreds of requests each week from people asking us to take in a surrender or stray. We need your support to get these helpless animals healthy, sterilized and ready for their new home. Your support makes the difference: without it, we cannot save!

Amigos de los Animales (ADLA) rescues, rehabilitates and rehomes abused and abandoned animals in the island of Puerto Rico. ADLA operates a Shelter located in Piñones, Loiza where we rescue stray dogs, rehabilitate, vaccinate and sterilize them and find new homes for them or transport them to no-kill Shelters in the mainland United States.
