Come and join us for a rare opportunity to learn and share Traditional Native American Medicine, What is the Native American Flute?
Learning about the Native American Flute , it’s history, how the Flute
has been used for Healing and it can be used for a Healing Ceremony.
We will also learn how to play in a Flute Circle. Students who would like to play or who would like to learn how to play will need a G minor Flute, (if you do not have a Flute you can help us by playing one of the Hand Drums). If you are interested in purchasing one see info below.
We will also let you know how to use Native American Music, and Flute for relaxation, or a meditation ceremony, and which CD, or Flutes to use.
We will also be using Hand Drums with drumstick to keep the rhythm,
feel free to bring your hand drum.
The second part of the workshop will focus on learning, singing, playing
Native American Songs, like the ones you might hear at a Native American Social, for this part we encourage you to bring your hand Drum.
(If you do not have one no problem we will have to share).
We will be learning Round Dance and we will also be playing, singing and dancing Social Stomp Dance.
A discussion of some of the History of Native American Dance.
Feel free to bring your moccasins if not don't worry just come and Dance with us and just have fun!
After this work shop you will be ready for Powwow Season.
(If you own a G Minor Flute please bring it with you, If you would Like to buy a flute let us know in advance and we will try get one in time for purchase see below for more information. This method of flute playing can be applied to any Native American Flute, you do not have to have a Flute to enjoy and learn.)
