"Vibration moves in and through all things; is all things. At the physical essence of our existence, the atomic and sub-atomic levels, there is only vibration. We are vibration and we are constantly harmonizing with vibrations in our near presence. That is the magic of the dance. The Drum carries the vibration of the Tiwa chants of ancientness and we resonate with that vibration as we discover the potentialities of our own beingness and remember who we are."
~ echo

We are grateful to Joseph Rael, Beautiful Painted Arrow for his clarity, and courage and for his magnificent gift—this way of discovering our true relationship with and in all things, and ultimately, ourselves.

The SunMoon Dance comes from a vision of Oneness and Peace. Joseph brought this vision of the SunMoon Dance to the Center for Peace and many other dance locations around the world.

The Seymour SunMoon Dance is an intensely personal experience that allows the participants time to experience themselves as beings of light. There are no other responsibilities, and no facilitator describing the experience to you. It is your experience.

Joseph established a requested give away of $750 for the dancers. No one who is called to dance will be turned away because they cannot pay the requested give away in cash. The dance leader offers a Work Exchange Program as one way to provide your give away. Additionally there are scholarships available to assure that if you are called to dance there will be a place for you in the arbor.

For information on these programs, contact Steve Citty.
Phone: (865) 300-4424 (this is my work phone so please leave a message or simply send a text message including your name.)

If you plan to come to the dance as a dancer OR as a helper, register now.

July 8th Work Day for the Sun Moon Dance

July 8th
Work Day

Prepare for the Sun Moon Dance

If you wish to work as part of a work exchange, contact Steve to coordinate dates and objectives.

As the Sun Moon Dance approaches, there is a lot of work to be done to prepare the arbor and the grounds for the dance.

Much of the planned work has been completed thanks to the hard work of our volunteers. Most of the work to clean up the east gate area and minimize the water and mud issue that we have had in the past has been completed, as well as several other drainage issues.

We still have more wood chips to be placed and the arbor roof is in need of attention and some repair work.

The front gardens and landscape around the Center are looking clean and well cared for, thanks to the work of Jeanne Robinson. There is still some work to be done.
  • Finish spreading wood chips
  • Clean the path and "Memorial Garden" area
  • Split and stack firewood
  • Prepare the Dance Arbor
  • Clean the composting toilets (sweep, empty trash, replenish supplies, clean seats, look for wasp nests etc)
  • Weed eat around meadow, Sound Chamber & arbor
  • There is also work to be done at the house, such as cleaning the kitchen and gift shop.
  • Sweep and tidy up Sound Chamber

All of this work is eligible for Work Exchange to help pay for the dance.

July 8th ~ Drumming Circle
Native Nurturing Drumming

In Bearden Hill

Saturday July 8

1-3pm

Nan Citty

Join Nan Citty for a Native Nurturing Drumming Circle at Knoxville Soap Candle & Gifts in the heart of Bearden.

This will be an introduction to drumming circles with a focus on hand drums, singing, and directional chants. This is a family event and children are welcome. You may bring your own drums.

Nan's vision of bringing the teachings of Joseph Rael - Beautiful Painted Arrow and the experience of the Dance to “our” children has resulted in the Native Nurturing Program at the Center which has been serving families since 1997. These events provide a hands-on experience that includes drumming, chanting, storytelling, and lessons on a variety of ceremonies.

The Drumming Circles at Knoxville Soap and Candle are always a lot of fun  and teach principles through practical experience.

MONTHLY
Monthly Fire Ceremony

 Fire Ceremony

 Friday, July 7th
 6:45 pm

~ led by Katy Koontz

The purpose of the FIRE CEREMONY is to heal and purify both the planet’s physical oceans and the oceans of cosmic thought.

At 7 pm local time, fire elders light ceremonial fires at each of the Peace Sound Chambers around the world. Those present watch the fire in silence until it burns out, giving to it what we want to transmute in our lives and staying open to the messages and teachings it brings.

Come to the fire ceremony if you enjoy focused meditation, if you are looking for new ideas and insights, if you seek to release and transmute something that does not serve you, if you want to join in the service of healing the oceans (both physical and cosmic) or if you’re simply called to participate in a ceremony that honors this powerful elemental force.

We suggest you arrive by 6:45 pm.
All are welcome.
Donations are appreciated.

July features Jeanne White Eagle and John Pehrson who will be sharing how spiritual teachings have influenced and inspired their Purposeful Work in the world. They are both authors, educators, spiritual leaders and have been called "Ambassadors for World Peace."

They are the co-creators of the "Pathway to the Open Heart" in its current form, a process designed to bring about a deep sense of peace, community and love.

WEEKLY
Monday Night Meeting

Monday Night Meditation

Every Monday

7:30pm-9:00pm

Several of the people who have been attending the Tuesday Night "Drumming, Meditation and Channeling" over the past several years have joined together as a group to continue on this path.

Since the group is evolving, we will be working on different subjects agreed on by the group:
  • guided meditation
  • Reiki instruction
  • we will listen to audio books or programs as a group
  • discuss whatever comes in the door
  • and many other subjects.
We look hopefully forward to the occasional night that Perry might join us.

We look forward to seeing you this coming Monday, February 27th at 7:30.

Friends of the Center

We are asking for sponsorship through monthly donations.

These donations do not need to be large but if those who love the Center for Peace could help by committing a few dollars on a monthly basis it could be the difference between always hoping that someday we will be able to build or provide those needed areas (i.e. showers, sleeping areas, restrooms) and actually making it happen.

If you have participated in any of the programs, offerings, and events that occur on an ongoing basis at the Center for Peace you have already felt the personal blessings from these activities. Our mission is to be a Spiritual Center for our community which extends to anyone open to this learning path.
