Long Dance
December 3rd-4th
Center For Peace
"In the Long Dance of life. . . every step forward awakens three opportunities for the human:
one: placement in eternity, two: purification of past forms, and three: new opportunities for adventure; for in the instance of eternal time the new always refreshes and cleanses."
~ Beautiful Painted Arrow
(Joseph Rael, Beautiful Painted Arrow, is a mystic, visionary, poet, and artist of Southern Ute and Picuris Pueblo decent who has taken his teaching around the world. Pursuing a vision that he experienced many years ago, Joseph inspired the development of some 60 Peace Sound Chambers all over the globe. The Long Dance is another of his many visions.)
A letter from the Dance Chiefs:
Katy Koontz and Colby McLemore
Greetings Long Dance dancers!
We’re excited to announce that the 2016 Long Dance at the Center for Peace will be held Saturday, December 3 through Sunday, December 4.
We want to extend a special invitation to all those who have been called to dance in the past to join us this year (and a thank-you to those who have already registered to dance again).
Once more, we will dance around the inside of the Peace Sound Chamber to the beat of the drum, surrounded by the powerful medicine of the dancers’ banners, reflecting where we have come from, where we are now, and what the Dance will help us manifest for our future.
As the night deepens, the chamber itself will become a drum and the dancers’ feet will become drum-beaters. Light from the sacred fire will flicker against the Chamber’s outer walls, supporting internal illumination and offering its incredible power of transmutation as the dancers go deeper and deeper into the state of No Mind. By morning, we will all breathe into a new dawn, both for the planet and for ourselves.
Please pray about whether or not you are being called to join the dance again this year. If so, please visit the Long Dance page on the Center’s website to register. That way, we’ll know how many dancers to expect, and you will be assured of receiving all the dancer notifications with information about the details of this year’s dance.
If you have any questions, feel free to either send us an e-mail (at Long.Dance@centerforpeace.us) or give us a call (Colby's number is 865-924-1455; Katy's number is 865-693-9845).
Thank you for honoring us with your Dance in the past. We hope you will be called to dance your future into being with us again this year.
Love and light,
Colby McLemore and Katy Koontz

Premier Shopping Days
December 10
10am-4pm
Our beautiful little gift shop has recently been restocked with one of a kind items.
Several large crystals have been added along with one of a kind jewelry, beautiful bags, and unique pieces discovered on a recent buying trip.
Our prices are the best you will find in the area because we do not have the overhead that other shops have. It is our pleasure to provide these beautiful items at very affordable prices. Whether you are shopping for gifts, give away items or something for yourself, there are many new things to see.
Each visitor will be given an index card (or more) on which you can make your Wish List, so bring your partner, friends and family for a day of leisurely browsing our shop. Each person will have an opportunity to shop for anyone that they choose, while their relative, partner or friend enjoys a cup of tea or coffee and a cookie and a friendly conversation with other persons of like mind.
With your Wish List in hand, your partner can’t go wrong in choosing the perfect gift for you!
All Wish List cards will be filed by us for future buying trips for your birthday, Valentines Day, anniversary or any other occasion. We will also be able to contact you by email when we receive fantastic new merchandise for you to add to your list or to choose from for someone else.

come create
PEACE
a Crystal Grid
Facilitated by Teresa McKee
Celebrate December and the Holidays by Creating a Crystal Grid for Peace.
A crystal grid is comprised of crystals, and stones, that have been cleansed and then placed in a geometric pattern within a sacred space, with the intention of manifesting a specific outcome.
The grid ceremony will start at 1 pm on Sunday, December 11 in the Peace Sound Chamber. The ceremony will continue until the grid is complete which usually takes 2-3 hours including teaching, discussion, and building of the grid.
There will be a feast afterwards, so bring a dish to share.
This ceremony continues our year-long celebration of the Center’s 30th year of serving the local area and the world through our many ceremonies, teachings, dances, sweat lodges, workshops and much more.

It is appropriate to bring tobacco, a small gift, or monetary gift for the fire-keeper and lodge master, both of whom offer their services to the people as a gift.

DRUMMING, MEDITATION, AND CHANNELING
Cancelled until further notice
We will drum for a while, then drift into a silent meditation. The Guides, with which Perry works, will begin to speak. All are invited to attend. Bring your favorite drum [we will have a few extras here, if you do not have one to play], an open mind, and a supportive heart. In the spirit of "my job is to show up", let's see what happens. You will know if you need to be here. An opportunity will be given for other Guides to speak as well. Out of respect for time, let's come early to socialize, so we can start on time.

We are asking for sponsorship through monthly donations.
These donations do not need to be large but if those who love the Center for Peace could help by committing a few dollars on a monthly basis it could be the difference between always hoping that someday we will be able to build or provide those needed areas (i.e. showers, sleeping areas, restrooms) and actually making it happen.
If you have participated in any of the programs, offerings, and events that occur on an ongoing basis at the Center for Peace you have already felt the personal blessings from these activities. Our mission is to be a Spiritual Center for our community which extends to anyone open to this learning path.
