Nan and I would like to express our heartfelt thanks to ALL the hardworking women, men and children who "showed up" for the Sun Moon Gathering July 15-17. The work done on the Arbor, chamber and grounds will resonate throughout the year and bless each person who visits the Center For Peace in this our 30th year!
THANK YOU!
Nan and Steve Citty
Please continue to hold our dear founders Perry and Jeanne Robinson in prayer as Perry recovers in hospital. Todd Robinson has been posting updates in the Center For Peace Facebook Group. |

Please bring towels, a change of clothing, and food to share.
Suggested Items to Bring:
- Two Towels
- Men are requested to wear swim trunks, gym shorts or something similar.
- Women are requested to wear a skirt or dress. (Something for inside the sweat that is modest and you don’t mind getting muddy.)
- Change of clothes (Preferably long sleeve and covers all of the legs to keep from getting the feast area dirty)
- Covered Dish for the Feast
It is appropriate to bring tobacco, a small gift, or monetary gift for the fire-keeper and lodge master, both of whom offer their services to the people as a gift.
We use lots of wood for the fire; supplies like herbs (sage, tobacco, cornmeal, etc.), drinking water, and more. If you are feeling abundant, a donation ($10-$20) would be appreciated. Donations are used to support the Sweat Lodge and the Dance Away Program.

Sunday August 7th ~ Monthly Fire Ceremony
|
Fire Ceremony
August 7th - 6:45 pm
~ led by Katy Koontz
In the interest of "Walking Gently" on our land;
Please DO NOT park or drive in the meadow.
~Thanks
The purpose of the FIRE CEREMONY is to heal and purify both the planet’s physical oceans and the oceans of cosmic thought.
At 7 pm local time, fire elders light ceremonial fires at each of the Peace Sound Chambers around the world. Those present watch the fire in silence until it burns out, giving to it what we want to transmute in our lives and staying open to the messages and teachings it brings.
All are welcome. We suggest you arrive around 6:45 pm.
Donations are appreciated.

Native Nurturing Young People's Dance

Native Nurturing Young People's Dance
Leaders: *** Nan Citty LCSW & Leslee Moore Cost: $25 per dancer (both adult and young)
The Native Nurturing Young People's Dance was created to have a place for young people, children, parents, their families, and loved ones to come and participate in a Native Based Ceremonial Dance especially created to celebrate our beautiful youth. This Dance is based on the teachings of Joseph Rael, Beautiful Painted Arrow a Ute and Puebloan native visionary who brought us these ancient teachings and ceremonies.
This is the Center for Peace's 30th Year in Seymour and this will be the 19th Young People's Dance. It will last for one day and begin with a Children's Sweat Lodge followed by a quick lunch. We will dance in the Arbor where there is shade and there will be water and food to help the Dancers along. Following the Dance there will be a Feast and a Giveaway.
This is an opportunity to celebrate our children. For those who have danced the Sun-Moon dance or any of Grandfather Joseph Rael dances, this is a place to share this experience with one or all of the young people in your life. And best of all, it is fun...!
Leaders: *** Nan Citty LCSW & Leslee Moore Cost: $25 per dancer (both adult and young)
***Nan Citty has been a student and dance chief of the ceremonial dances of Joseph Rael for numerous years.
Nan is very happy to introduce Leslee Moore a local Montessori instructor and student of the teachings of Joseph Rael, Beautiful Painted Arrow. She is joining in our effort to make these teaching available to our young people.

August 17th & 31st Medicine Wheel Teaching
|
Knoxville Soap and Candle
5201 Kingston Pike, Ste 3, Knoxville, Tennessee 37919
This is the next in a series of workshops by various teachers from the Center For Peace graciously hosted by Jodi Bowlin at Knoxville Soap and Candle.
This is a wonderful opportunity for you to bring your friends to a Center For Peace activity conveniently located in the Bearden Hill area of west Knoxville.
Join Steve Citty of the Center For Peace for Medicine Wheel Teachings.
Joseph Rael (Beautiful Painted Arrow) brought his mystical teachings to the Center For Peace in the early 1990's.
The teachings that will be offered are based on the metaphor that Joseph brought to us. The metaphor permeates the Sweat Lodge ceremonies, visionary dances and the Chamber itself. The relationship of the Medicine Wheel and the Drum Dance will be explored.

DRUMMING, MEDITATION, AND CHANNELING
Cancelled Tuesday August 3rd
7:30-9pm
We will drum for a while, then drift into a silent meditation. The Guides, with which Perry works, will begin to speak. All are invited to attend. Bring your favorite drum [we will have a few extras here, if you do not have one to play], an open mind, and a supportive heart. In the spirit of "my job is to show up", let's see what happens. You will know if you need to be here. An opportunity will be given for other Guides to speak as well. Out of respect for time, let's come early to socialize, so we can start on time.

We are asking for sponsorship through monthly donations.
These donations do not need to be large but if those who love the Center for Peace could help by committing a few dollars on a monthly basis it could be the difference between always hoping that someday we will be able to build or provide those needed areas (i.e. showers, sleeping areas, restrooms) and actually making it happen.
If you have participated in any of the programs, offerings, and events that occur on an ongoing basis at the Center for Peace you have already felt the personal blessings from these activities. Our mission is to be a Spiritual Center for our community which extends to anyone open to this learning path.
