This Month With PartyCharlie

 Thanksgiving day will soon be here, and boy do I have a lot to be thankful for!
I had the pleasure of producing the Proclaimed Justice Fundraiser in Brentwood, California.
We kicked this amazing event off with Kodaline, an Irish rock band.
Next, the beautiful, and talented Sarah Silverman took the stage, and had us all in stitches!
The Dixie Chicks, our main entertainment, rocked the house!
When Natalie Maines, and the band hit the stage, the place went wild! WHAT A NIGHT!!!
(Natalie Maines, John Hardin, Charlie Scola, AKA... PartyCharlie.)
(I had BLAST listening to the Band during the sound check!)
The next extravaganza that I will be producing, will be for the EB Kids Fundraiser, on November 15th, featuring  the wonderful singer-songwriter, musician, and occasional actor, Ed Sheeran!

You can prolong the life of your lettuce, and keep it fresh by wrapping it in a paper towel, and then putting it in a sealed baggie in the fridge.

PartyCharlie - Recipe Corner
|
GLUTEN-FREE SPICED CARROT AND SWEET POTATO SOUP
INGREDIENTS:
1 tablespoon olive oil
3 shallots, minced
2-3 carrots, peeled and chopped
1 large sweet potato, peeled and sliced
7 cups vegetable stock
1 teaspoon ground coriander
½ teaspoon fennel seeds, ground
½ teaspoon oregano
1 orange peel
salt, to taste
toasted pumpkin seeds, for garnish
DIRECTIONS:
Heat oil in a large soup pot over medium heat. Add shallots and cook until tender, about 2-3 minutes.
Add carrots, sweet potatoes, stock, coriander, fennel, oregano and orange peel.
Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and cook until vegetables are tender, about 45 minutes.
Remove orange peel, and puree soup in a blender.
Season with salt to taste.
Ladle soup into bowls. Sprinkle with toasted pumpkin seeds.
