ESTUARY AND LAKE OKEECHOBEE SCIENTIST TO GIVE EXPERT VIEW
ON STATUS OF WATERS

As we drift into the wet season, what's the real situation with the St. Lucie River and Lake Okeechobee systems? More pollution ahead?

Dr.  Paul Gray, one of the most highly regarded biologists around, will give his take of how things stand with the waters, at an evening meeting of the Rivers Coalition at 6 p.m. Wednesday, June 24, at Stuart City Hall.

Admission is free, with plenty of free parking as well. Here's a rare chance to enjoy time with Dr. Gray, who's known for his low-key but authoritative insights.

He'll be fielding questions from our dedicated citizens.

And you won't have to go to Uruguay. That's where Paul recently took part in an international wetlands consortium that drew 800 delegates from 160 countries. It's a wetlands organization of direct interest to the Rivers Coalition. We urge you to visit their website at ramsar.org

Get the facts! Stay informed! Be involved!

Can't make it to the meeting? We post full meeting videos to our Youtube channel.

Kevin Henderson, the president of the Rivers Coalition Defense Fund, had the pleasure of speaking to The Humanists of the Treasure Coast on June 14th at the Clarion Hotel in Stuart. This interested group was fascinated to learn about the condition of the river, the latest political news, and possible solutions to help improve the water conditions. The presentation also sparked several questions that Kevin was happy to address. “Thank You” to everyone who participated in this event and for your attention to the plight of our river!
If you are interested in having a representative of the Rivers Coalition speak to your group, please contact Todd Weissing at 772-223-6743 or by email at info@riverscoalition.org
