Martin County River Kidz
The Kidz came out to support the Press Conference on Friday, Jan. 16th in opposition of the Lake Okeechobee discharges happening currently.  There were a total of 13 River Kidz from Martin and St. Lucie Counties and they held their signs proudly chanting "Save Our River!", "Buy the Land!" and "Send it South!".  Their faces are always a reminder that they are our river's future.

St. Lucie County River Kidz

St. Lucie County’s next River Kidz meeting is Feb. 8, 2015 from 1pm to 3pm at the Manatee Observation and Education Center.
We are preparing for spring where we’ll be engaging in a two possible community gardens. Our goal is to introduce to our families different ways to maintain their gardens without depending on “lagoon harming” products. Also, the importance of native plants. Families are being asked to bring seeds, during the meeting we’ll be doing a seed swap.

We also are looking for artsy River Kidz from all over! We are preparing to hold a River Kidz Art show with proceeds going to a local environmental organization. We are asking parents who’s child(ren) may be interested in donating a painting, drawing, photo or sculpture to get in touch with Katy Lewey at riverkidzslc@gmail.com
